A New Step in My Career

I am truly excited to join the Saventa team. For me, this step represents not only a new phase in my career at AniCura, but above all an opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists, each with expertise in their own field. Interdisciplinary collaboration for each patient is essential: it enables us to provide the highest standard of care and to continuously learn from one another.

What motivates me most is the opportunity to develop and implement new treatment techniques together with the team. Clinical innovation and advancing veterinary medicine inspire me every day.

Leadership and Education

As Medical Director, I am proud to actively contribute to shaping the next generation of veterinarians. By organizing educational programs, mentoring colleagues, and coaching young clinicians, I hope to elevate the quality of veterinary medicine in Belgium, both within and outside AniCura.

Working in a Modern, Well-Equipped Environment

Working in such a modern, well-equipped environment alongside our partners gives me a lot of energy. My goal is to support and facilitate my colleagues so they can perform at their very best, creating a culture where both professionals and patients benefit from excellence in care. Patients deserve high-quality, evidence-based medicine, combined with empathy for both the animal and its owner. Teamwork is essential, because interdisciplinary collaboration leads to better outcomes. I value continuous learning and innovation, as veterinary medicine is always evolving to provide better care and new treatments.

Expertise and Knowledge Sharing

Although I don’t call myself a specialist, you can certainly say I am an expert in veterinary laser surgery. Over the past ten years, I have dedicated myself extensively to laser surgery, endoscopy, and urology, which has allowed me to build a high level of expertise and practical experience. At the same time, I genuinely enjoy supporting others. It gives me great satisfaction to see colleagues successfully manage complex cases and to assist or mentor them whenever needed.

Sharing knowledge is important to me, and I am motivated to create platforms that allow colleagues to do the same, for example by organizing courses, training programs, and scientific congresses.

Inspiration and Ambition

The most memorable moment in my career was graduating and starting my profession in veterinary medicine. But if I had to choose one specific moment, it would be an endoscopy training course many years ago, where I was inspired by the work of a colleague from England who introduced me to laser surgery. That experience sparked my fascination with laser surgery and has strongly influenced my professional journey.

My ambition at Saventa is to continue and further develop my clinical work while introducing and refining new techniques that improve patient care. At the same time, I hope to become someone who truly impacts others professionally, someone a young colleague might one day say inspired or helped shape their career path, just as I have had inspiring examples myself.

Growing Together and Shaping the Future

Together, we are building a strong team where we learn from each other, support one another, and continuously grow. My goal is for Saventa to become a reference center where both patients and professionals feel supported, inspired, and proud to be part of the team and environment and shape the future of veterinary medicine together.

Personal: Family, Otis & Challenges

Privately, I am married and the proud father of two daughters, who often have to miss me due to my professional dedication – something for which I am deeply grateful for their understanding and support. Recently, our family welcomed Otis, a Labradoodle who accompanies me almost everywhere, including to work. Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy physical challenges; I have completed several long-distance walking events of more than 100 kilometers. These walks help me clear my mind and find inspiration.
